She married Kenji straight out of university, having met and fallen in love in La La Land—also known as L.A., the City of Angels, or so they say.
Kenji, a kindhearted and good-natured Japanese country gentleman, is an exemplar from a distant time and place.
The serendipity of this match—made in heaven and arranged, perhaps, by their respective tutelary deities—might be dismissed by some as mere coincidence.
